AIP Teacher Certification Course

The American Institute of Parliamentarians will offer a new, multi-faceted Teacher Certification Course beginning June 15, 2026.
The four-session course will begin with online self-paced instruction. This will be followed by a 2.5-hour virtual session held on July 12, 2026 to discuss your learning and to make preliminary decisions on your presentation (no more than 10 minutes). The course continues with an in-person presentation that will be held in conjunction with the 2026 Annual Session. A discussion time and lunch (included) follows the presentations. The course will end with a virtual gathering in August (TBD by class) where presentation will be made and a wrap-up seminar will be held.
Separate from the course, attendees will have the opportunity to attend a 90-minute online presentation in September 2026 that will be available to current T-holders.
Any Certified member of AIP (CP, CP-T, CPP, CPP-T) is eligible to take the course. AIP Members with NAP's Professional Registered Parliamentarian {PRP} credential may be allowed to take the course as space allows (please ensure to include your NAP ID Number during registration).
At least seven students will need to have registered for the course by June 22, 2026 in order for it to be conducted. No more than 14 students are allowed prior to registration closing on June 28, 2026 at 5:00 pm EDT.
Successful completion of the Teacher Certification Course requires taking the eLearning, attendance at all three classes, successful presentations as determined by the instructors, participation in class discussions, and submitting all required assignments.

The Teacher Certification course is recommended for:
- Any certified member of AIP who wishes to become Teacher Certified. Following successful completion of the course, it will also be necessary to earn “teaching hours” demonstrating continued instruction in the field of parliamentary procedure.
- Any member of AIP who is credentialed, including those with an existing T credential, who wishes to earn continuing education credit. Successful completion of the Teacher Certification course is one of several ways that a credentialed member can extend their period of certification. Additional activities will be required to maintain certification.
- Any certified member of AIP or member of AIP credentialed as a PRP by NAP who, even though not a candidate for Teacher Certification, wishes to improve teaching skills in a controlled non-threatening environment. Certified members of AIP will be given preference.

Cancellation Policy: All Cancellation requests must be in writing. Cancellations can be made in full until June 30, 2026. Cancellations received after July 1, 2026 will be subject to a $75.00 cancellation fee (fee paid less $75). No refunds will be given for cancellation after Monday, July 13, 2026.
